Plus Sized girls
WHAT are you wearing?
I swear Im gonna have a breakdown.
Went to Destination Motherhood today. HUGE store. TWO racks of plus size stuff.
I tried every single shirt on, got ONE and one pair of pants .
The JC penny stuff is just ugh, Old Navy is OK if they have your size.
Its like next to impossible.
I know Lane Bryant now has online Maternity stuff ( came out this weel) but its like $50 for everything....I dont wanna spend all this money
Im really unsure of what to dress in ?
ETA- Its mostly shirts I have the problem with b/c Im big chested and look like aLL boobs in all the shirts with the stupid x's at the top , and wrap around styles

Re: Plus Sized girls
Yeah Old Navy only carries up to XL in the stores - while some of it fits - I find that some is too tight - but the XXL that you have to order online is swimming on me.
Target - I went to look and they only had pants up to 14 with one or 2 16s and nothing bigger.
JCPenny's I haven't looked at yet - but they supposedly have plus online.
Motherhood in the source - has tons of tops - and they all fit fine - but they only have like 2 pairs of pants - and they seem to be irregular - I tried on three of the same pants in the same size - two were swimming and one was skin tight. They have a couple of pairs of jeans - but I can't wear jeans to work - so I feel your pain.
I finally gave in an bought one pair from Lane Bryant only because I can't wear only two pairs of pants to work for the whole time.

Re: Plus Sized girls
When i was pg with Nate, i got a few staples. I got 3 pairs of jeans, black and khaki pants from Motherhood maternity. They were expensive, but I am getting my money worth bc I'm wearing them again. For shirts, I've been wearing sweaters from Lane Bryant.
I think spending $50 on a few important pieces is worth it. I haven't seen LB's stuff online yet but maybe the coupons the give for regular clothes can be used. If so you can get some pretty good deals.
Surprisingly, I haven't gotten anything from JCPenney. My mom works there so I would get a discount. You can order stuff online and return them to the store if you don't like it or doesn't fit.

try eBay...I know it sounds weird but you might get some great stuff that was worn like twice for a great price.

at the jcpenney's in queen's center mall i got 3 pairs of paints all sized XXL, so i guess all the jcpenney's are different as to what they carry.
at the source maternity store (the plus section), i got some stuff. i don't love the shirts on me, but i needed something.
i got 2 shirts at the source's old navy in XXL, but i had to dig through piles of S,M,L to find just those.
it's so hit and miss and i find it extremely frustrating too. there is such a market for this, i don't understand why stores/brands snub the plus-sized preggos. maybe this is the business we need to be in!!!

Re: Plus Sized girls
With regard to Lane Bryant they always have coupons, just google lane bryant printable coupons. I don't know if their coupons are good on maternity purchases, but I honestly don't see why they wouldn't be. Good luck.

Re: Plus Sized girls
I shopped in motherhood my entire pregnancy. I had the same problem, it was more the tops I had problems with. I was large chested to begin with so nothing fit at all. Motherhood usually had 2 racks of stuff that always fit well. I did like someone else said..I got staples...things I could definately mix and match. I miss maternity clothes..I never thought I would say that!

Re: Plus Sized girls
Those who are going to motherhood - which location? How is the Hicksville location compared to the Source one? The girl at the store said Hicksville had a slightly larger selection -and I wondered if it was worth checking out.
