POLL - Open houses - worth it to make a sale or mostly just nosey neighbors?
Do you think open houses are worth having when you sell or do you think the traffic is mostly just nosey neighbors?

Same here. I think it's worth it, but within reason... there's a house down the block from me that's for sale, and they have open houses every single weekend. That frequency is unnecessary, IMO.

We sold our house at our first open house!
I also really liked open houses because you can make the house perfect and leave!

I agree that having them too often is worthless (and seems desperate!), but once a month or so is definitely worth it!

I think it's worth it to have one. The agent that represented the house we are buying said all the neighbors did come over, but so did interested buyers.

i think its mixed. our first open house we had two neighbors from our block and one from the block over but everyone else were people we didn't no. i also sent my mom and her friend in one day (wasn't my realtor doing the open house).
not sure if the people who purchased the home visited during an open house or not but we did get a few offers from people at our open houses
i think you should do them.
