I think with me being home on moderate bedrest, there really is no reason for me to get the flu shot. I am rarely out and about. Am I crazy for thinking this?

Thanks! I just always want to do the right thing for the baby! All of this is enough to drive anyone crazy!

I think I will. I never get it and I get the flu almost every year! I have a weak immune system from a childhood illness and I was always nervous that if I got the shot, I'd get the flu from it, bt I get the flu anyway, so I'll give it a try this year!

I realized I didnt answer my own poll I just saw my doctor today he recommends the regular flu shot (only the one that is mercury free) he is NOT recommending the swine flu shot.. I am getting the regular flu shot today

my reg dr recommended it, but ive never gotten one before so i dont know what to do.
i dont think ive had the flu in yeaaars. but im also not around a tonnnn of ppl w/my corporate job.
but this yr ill be observing a class of little kiddies and going to class at night...so im thinking maybe i should just in case.

I am planning on getting it right after DS is born. That way I can pass on immunity through breastfeeding, with hopefully no adverse side effects. (I am due in early/mid October).

I have been getting it for 10 years and also while I was pregnant with my 2 DC's. I plan on getting it this year as well when myjob gets it (we get it for free - I work in a nursing home)

I got it this past Tuesday when they did my 32 week sono. I had really no reservation about it. H1N1 is a different story since my OB said he is not sure if he is going to recommend it yet. Plus it's a really new vaccine. See how it goes come Oct I guess.
