POLL: What would you pay for a Holiday photo session?
I'm trying to get an idea of what is the norm? Also, how long should it be? Not looking for prints, just a CD... if you have any suggestions for vendors, please let me know.

Re: POLL: What would you pay for a Holiday photo session?
Is it like a mini session where you have like 30-45 mins with the photographer, or is it a full session where you have like two hours?

Re: POLL: What would you pay for a Holiday photo session?
What I would pay and what most of them charge is completly different.
Honestly, we've done both routes, gone to sears/target/jc penny and wound up paying over $100 for pictures and didn't get a cd.(probably close to $150)
We've also had picture's taken at someone's studio and we've paid $200-$250 for that with the cd with all of the pictures.
Some photographers do offer cheaper prices with only picking 5-10 images for the cd. I have 3 kids so 5-10 images rarely cuts it so we usually get all of them. Also since we do have 3 kids we tend to get on the higher end of the number of pictures since there are 3 kids and group shots.
I think it depends on the number of pictures. There are a few out there who are doing the mini- sessions for under $150(i've seen $75- $$175) with a guarantee of 5-10 minimum prints. (which isn't too bad of a deal)

Re: POLL: What would you pay for a Holiday photo session?
I think it all depends on the photographer. Those that are starting out, building a portfolio, charge less because they are still practicing and perfecting their skills. Those that are professionals did a lot of work to get there and deserve whatever rates they charge.
Just a note, after the photoshoot, they spend HOURS editing pics and making them perfect. IMO, spending an hour with you and many hours behind the scenes deserves any price they charge.....

ITA with this, some of their editing is amazing and worth whatever you pay!

I've paid everywhere in between for holiday photos from Kiddie Kandids, Sears & private photographers.
You can't go wrong with All Seasons Photography . She took some great puddle shots of DD & for a mini session is on the lower end of the scale.
