Pool ? (getting one from someone, not store)
Has anyone been given a pool and applied for a permit through the town..As of now, looks like we will be given a 20' pool which we will put up next year, when i looked online for town of islip the permit paperwork doesnt really apply to use, since dh and his friends will put it up and not a company..anyone been through this?

I would think you need a permit either way

I think you def need a permit. Doesn't matter who puts it up. You need to be approved by the town to put up a pool. That's what the permit is for.

you will need to file a permit with the town
the only difference is you have to do all the work, not a pool company for you
the only way I think you can go around getting one, is if its a temporary pool as in you take it down at the end of the summer, but I'm not really sure. my parents did this when I was very little, but it was just a 3 foot pool. I don't believe they got a permit. after a few years, they got tired of taking it down so they got a bigger one and got a permit for it.
