Pop Warner week at Disney - am I screwed?
I questioned why our week at Disney was the one week without free Dining and it turns out it's Pop Warner. I was reading that Pop Warner has minimal impact on crowds and it's the week we really wanted to go, so I kept my room and booked the flight. Now I'm reading that Pop Warner is a nightmare, it's very crowded and the kids are going to be swarming the resort being obnoxious and with their drunk parents who don't care.
Ugh.Some honeymoon trip.
I just called 40 WDISNEY and he's like "Ma'am, Pop Warner is huge, you're going to have them at all the Values, if you want to go for a moderate, you won't have them at CoronadoA", but that's a lot more money
I've read everything from !) You only see the kids in larger crowds at the food court at breakfast and barely in the parks because they are competing all day and have curfews"
to
2) it was the worst vacation I ever had, the crowds in the pars were terrible and my resort was swarming with obnoxious kids and their drunken parents

Is that the cheerleading convention? When is it? I think we might have gone during that once if it was in the spring.

I've heard that it is awful when they are there, but just at their hotels. The parks should be fine. I think if you find their site you can figure out what hotels they are at and I'd avoid them at all costs. I think one year they stayed at one of the All Stars and Riverside.

If you are at a value you will be miserable, guaranteed! They cheer in the courtyards until like 11pm. I would switch to CS if you can!
You won't see much of them in the parks, but they overrun the hotels, and yes the parents can be obnoxious and drunk. Don't you watch dance moms girl? Different sport, same moms....LOL....JK, but seriously, I've been there for Pop Warner week, it was annoying.

Re: Pop Warner week at Disney - am I screwed?
I'm sorry to say I have heard horror stories about pop warner. I personally would skip that week if it was possible. I had friends say they were all over the resort - and that they were very loud not well supervised - screaming and running around late at night or early mornings. I think if you were at another hotel it would be okay but I would be nervous about staying there that week if you plan to spend time at the hotel or are a light sleeper.

I think if it's JUST at the hotel I can deal with it. We sleep with the TV on a lot of the time. I'm generally a VERY light sleeper, but at Disney I'm ready to drop so hard that it doesn't matter. I sleep like a rock. We also spend very little time at the hotel.

Not sure what resort you are staying at, but I would request a room FAR from the main building, and ask for the top floor so you don't hear the jumping around above you.

Bring ear plugs as someone mentioned I hear they cheer very late and night an right outside the doors sometimes.

You'll miss them since you're in November, but they do spill them over to Port Orleans and Caribbean Beach.
We were there once when there was some cheer thing going on, and I do remember kids practicing in the courtyards and it being mildly annoying. I'll let you guys know
ETA: I'm hoping the crowds will actually balance out and/or be lower. Some people say PW has minimal imapct on parks since they are competing anyway, but I'm hoping since it's the ONLY week of the season without free dining that many people will have chosen a different week and we'll enjoy smooth sailing at the parks
