Positive antibodies in bloodwork?

I had to get more blood taken because there were positive antibodies in my 8 week blood work. I have negative blood, and got the rhogam shot at 6 weeks - so the dr is confused why I have these antibodies. I'm worried but she said she thinks everything will be fine. Does anyone have any history of this or know anything about it?

Did you also get the rhogam shot when you were 28 weeks pregnant?

Not to pry, but if you were ever previously pregnant, then you would have had to have the shot then also.

But otherwise, I def don't know enough as to why you'd have the antibodies! I hope all is ok regardless!

ok, the rhogam shot is a shot of antibodies.. so if you got the shot and then had the blood work that is why.... and if your doctor doesnt know that then you need to find a different doctor because that is basic knowledge for an ob and for anyone who is dispensing or administering it..

what rhogam is is a dose of antibodies to rh positive blood.. it's purpose is to bind to your babies cells in your system before your body recognizes them... if your body reconizes them and produces those antibodies then the rhogam is no longer useful....
