Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
As soon as I start to feel better I feel like I take a step back.
I'm 2 weeks PP today and I was having little to no bleeding for the last week, then brown bleeding/spotting for the last day-two most...
Then tonight suddenly I passed a clot...not too big and have had heavy bleeding since.
I'm a natural worrier...Is this OK? Its not TOO heavy but it is Red bleeding like a period.
TIA for calming my nerves
Also- It feels sore about 2 inches above my incision, I had not been feeling ANY pain at all for the last 4-6 days....
Am I just doing too much?
How long did you feel stomach soreness for?
Thanks once again!

Re: Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
yes, it's normal! i bled on and off for 5-6 weeks. even right at 6 weeks i bled more than i had been.
and clots are fine - i think anything bigger than a golf ball i'd be worried about but smaller than that is okay.
plus the tenderness is normal, your abdominal muscles (esp. carrying twins) were all stretched out, plus you had surgery... as long as it doesn't hurt when you touch it (like really hurt) i would say you are okay.
how is your incision? that's what i would pay the most attention to.

I get the momentary bit of PANIC sometimes.
The incision is much better. Its still oozing/bleeding but very litle and the opening is still very small...
Thanks again.....

Re: Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
Yes it's totally normal. Just when I'd think the bleeding was done, it would come on like that. Up until around six or seven weeks. It definitely happened more when I did too much and was more active.
The pain increasing is normal too, your body is healing on the inside and nerve endings are reconnecting. In a few weeks you will feel great!

I bled for about 7 weeks. I kept thinking it was stopping and then would it would start all over again. I can't remember exactly how long I was sore for, but it was definitely awhile.

Re: Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
I bled for almost 6 weeks. Sometimes it would be light, sometimes it would be heavier. I passed some clots too once I was home.
Glad to hear your incision is doing better

Re: Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
I bled for 5.5 weeks and stopped just in time for the 6 weeks PP.
As for soreness, yes it will be sore for a while. Make sure to monitor though. Do you have oozing/bleeding at the incision? Do you have a bulge? Did you get your stiches/staples visit yet with your OB? I had mine at 10 days PP to check on the incision. Make sure to mention it to your OB then or at your 6 week PP visit.

Re: Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
How big was the clot??
Depending on that I might be concerned - but then again I went through hell with a PP Hemorrhage at 18 days PP
I basically stopped bleeding 4 days PP and thought GREAT! This is awesome! For the next 2.5 weeks I was running a fever between 100-103 and we didnt know why.
Fast fwd to 18 days PP and I starting having CONTRACTIONS! I mean timeable contractions, 3 mins apart. We were out at CVS and all of a sudden I started to BLEED, through my pants, down my leg, passed a clot half the size of my PLACENTA! It was like a scene out of a horror movie.
My OB said as long as the clot isnt bigger than an egg youre ok. Otherwise I would call your OB just to be sure!

Re: Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
i didn't have a c-section, but i don't think it matters...
my pp bleeding was completely nonsensical. heavy, then light, then heavy, then nonexistent, then heavy...
it took 7 weeks for it to pass and it was totally maddening. i never knew what i was going to get day to day...
but my doc said that it was totally normal... just annoying

Re: Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
I would also call your ob. After my section about 7-8 weeks I hemorrhaged as well and needed a dnc. I was stupid and didnt realize you were not supposed to bleed heavy for all of those weeks. It was my first pregnancy and no one told me. Not saying you are having a problem but better calling to be safe then sorry...

Re: Post C/Section bleeding- Is this normal?
On the 22nd I will be 4 weeks PP. I bleed on and off and my OB says that is normal for about 6-8 weeks. Some days it is heavier than others and I also pass some clots. I would say call your OB if you have questions that you are worrying about, just b/c sometimes hearing it from the doctor can be very reassuring..I am a worrier as well, I am sure you are fine but if you have questions, call...that is what they are there for.
