Did you guys all go for an " incision check" or just the 6 week visit?

I had to go at 1 week to get the staples out and the steri-strips on. Then I had to go back at 2 weeks to get the strips off, next I have to go to the 6 week visit, which I'm really going to at 9 weeks! Nothing like procrastination...

Just went for the 6 week check. I had my grandma, who used to be a nurse, check the incision. Or sometimes DH.

I went at 2 weeks for an incision check and then back at 6 weeks PP.
I didn't have staples or anything - so I guess that is why I had to go back at 2 weeks
Did you go yet?

I went for a pp 4 week visit. my mom was staying with us though and she is a nurse, so she kept checking it.

ETA: I forgot I had to go in at 2 weeks to get my staples out, then back at 6 weeks to check how it healed.

Staples were removed the day I left the hospital (4 days). I have the tape strips now.
Dr. D. told me to see them next week. One week after my release from the hospital to check on the incision.

I went for an incision check 2 weeks after leaving the hospital and then 2 weeks after that and thats it.. nothing past 4-5 weeks pp for me

They told me to have an incision check but Im putting it off, hard to get there, which is why I ask. I had disolvable stiches.

same here but I never went to the 6 week visit and still have not been back.

Maybe call the office and ask how important it is for you to go

It is pretty important to go. Not only do they check your incision but they do an internal as well. They make sure that your uterus is contracting at the proper rate, and also to make sure the incision does not have any adhesions or poorly placed scar tissue.

I know especially after you girls got stitches. My uterus bled more than normal so maybe that's why  I will ask next week when I see Dr H

me too, but my 6 week check up ended up being 8 weeks because it was around the holidays.
