Post Coital Test

Has anyone had this done before? What exactly does it involve? (Besides the obvious)

Does it hurt?

If I use preseed, with this "mess up" the results of the test?

I've never had one, but from what I understand, after you BD the dr. will scrape a little of the CM from your cervix to see the number and movement of the sperm in there. Its like the same procedure of as getting a pap. And I would think that using preseed would mess up the results, the test should be done in your "natural" environment.

I dont think youre allowed to use any kind of lubricant.

Other than that... its just like a pap

I never had once since DH and I went straight to IUI. As the other ladies said, I think it's as simple and quick as a pap.

I had two. It's quick and painless - it's almost EXACTLY like getting a pap.

You BD, and within 10 hours they take a quick swab and put it under the microscope to see how your DH's sperm are interacting with your mucous.

This is exactly how I was diagnosed with "hostile cervical mucous" - with both post-coitals, they were done right at the time I was ovulating, and yet, under the microscope, while DH's numbers were plentiful, his little guys were having trouble moving around.
