Post partum bleeding (maybe TMI)

Does anyone know if this sceneraio is "normal" or not.

I had Gabriel Oct. 15th so it's been roughly 3 weeks. I was bleeding the 1st week and then NOTHING the second week and this week until today. All of a sudden this evening I started gushing!!!
I don't feel faint of anything just have gone through a lot of pads. It all started around 5 pm when I was makign dinner. I understand you may bleed for up to 6 weeks post partum but is it normal for nothing to happen for over a week and then suddenly start up again full force???? Any info would be appreciated until I can call my dr. tomorrow. TIA!

My nurse told me that if it got worse instead of better that meant I was overdoing it. And if it got as bad as the first day, that I should contact the doctor.

I had something similar. As long as you are feeling ok, I think it is fine. Just watch for extra large clots...

th same thing happened to me, i had a c-section so by the time i got home from the hospital i wasnt bleeding anymore really, then one day i gushed omg i was like what the heck is this about, i got nervous and asked dr..he said normal, especially if i was only bleeding light since having baby it has to come out somehow. and u could be over doing it but still it has to come out. then seriously it just stopped again and was very light, where i had to wear a panty liner for like another month it was very annoying but then stopped finally :)

Totally normal

There were times were I stoped wearing a pad because I thought "Oh I must be done with that" and then all of a sudden it would start again.

I had it off and on for about a month

i had this EXACT thing happen to me. TMI - I barely bled day 2 - 7. I mean, pad change every 4-6 hours, maybe. Not nearly as bad as my normal periods.

All of a sudden on day 18ish, I started GUSHING, like almost called an ambulence. I sat on the toilet for 2 hours until it slowed and then i sat on wee wee pads for the next 24

I didnt bleed much after that at all, and even now at 6 months PP, my periods are MUCH lighter than before and shorter also!

The same exact thing happened to me. I called my Dr. and the nurse told me that usually you take it easy for the first week and by the end of your second week you start doing more because you feel good. She said she gets lots of calls usually around that time frame. Good luck!
