Maddy is a rescue and she's about 2-3 y/o (we adopted her in December) and she's about 15 lbs. and she's a great dog. She has a great personality -- fun, loving, and really really sweet. She does have separation anxiety whenever I leave her, and she still follows me everywhere...but the reward for me is when I get home and she RUNS to come greet me. They're VERY intelligent dogs but can be pretty silly at the same time.
We did invest in a trainer that came one a week for eight weeks, at about 2 hours each time, and it was more to train us on how to be "dog owners." She learned how to sit/lay down/stay/come relatively quickly.
The main reason we looked into the Havanese breed is because we have a rabbit and every other dog wanted to eat her! We had friends with different groups come to see how the rabbit and/or dog reacted, and when my friend bought her Havanese Sophie, we knew that was it for us.

OHHH sooo cute... I really really want one.. My DH said we can get a second after we move into a house. not in our condo! lol.. We have Barkley he is about 42 lbs so i wanted a second dog a little smaller.. 15lbs is not bad... She is sooo cute!!!!

DH doesn't like wire haired JRT but I think these pics might just change his mind!! and dita, you're absolutely right. I am a little biased with JRT. I just think they're such a beautiful breed!
