Ok well here's my pic...

Its gonna all be black and white- (the sheet will be made to black) and the only thing in color will be the lights...

Then DH will design a card... not sure if we'll add another pic or not, and just keep it simple...????

(Thanks to -Donnamaries- card from last year for the inspiration Chat Icon )

I love that picture Marissa!!!!! and Stephanie that card you made for Marissa is awesome!! If you make it in Photoshop, how do you get it printed? I have Photoshop Elements and don't really use it much....

You have to save it as a JPEG file and then you can open it up in paint or adobe acrobat to adjust your print options.

First I colored the background black. I had to use the magic wand to color around his head because if I did it by hand, it would be all bumpy. The hardest part was coloring around the legs and arms...you have to zoom in and color in very carefully. This is the part that is most time consuming. Then you adjust the color of the rest of the photo and make it black and white. Then I take the paint tool and color in the lights again. It sounds simple, but it took me a year to figure it out. I'm still learning too...I have no idea what half of the things in photoshop mean or do.

Re: Post pics of your Do-it-yourself Holiday Cards...

Two years now, I sat my son in front of some boxes we had wrapped already for the holidays (you can use multiple small boxes if you don't have one big box).

I do all of my photos at home (each month for the first year, yearly photos, christmas, etc) We went to a professional one time, and I hated how they came out. All of my photos have backgrounds with some meaning to them (favorite blanket, wall in one of our rooms that I painted, wrapping paper that we use). Also, if he's not in a good mood, we can try again in an hour. Plus with a digitial camera, I just keep snapping away until I get something I like... :)

Most photo websites have cards they will print if you upload a photo. I use http://www.shutterfly.com/ but there are dozens of them out there.
