Post your favorite Mommy "TIPS" here...
I thought it would be nice to have a post of all our favorite little tips, FYIs, PSAs etc...Can be anything that makes mommy's life a little easier.
1. When your child starts elementary school...save all of the friendship lists from prior years. That way you always have all the phone #s and addresses.
2. When making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches put the peanut butter on both slices of bread with the jelly in between. The bread wont get soggy that way.
3. When starting solid foods (veggies & fruits) add a little bit of cereal. Sometimes it's not the taste of the foods that babies dont like but the new texture of the food. Keeping the texture uniform helps them develope a taste for the new food without texture being an issue.
4. One scoop of powdered formula to 2 oz of water will make 2.2 oz of formula.
5. When I started giving the kids puffs I dont buy the Gerber ones. The cereal aisle has cereal in bags. Puffed rice and puffed wheat come in this huge bag for 99cents. I still have some left and DS is 13 months old!!!!
Please ADD your own....

These are all great.
With Halloween coming up, you can pick up costumes for your dc to play dress up in for cheap after Halloween when they get marked down. Last year I got a bunch that Santa gave dd.
Wash infant and toddler socks in a lingerie bag so they don't get sucked into your washer or dryer. I leave a lingerie bag hanging on their hampers so I can put them in every day.

Not all formulas are this proportion. DS was on Neocate and it was 1 scoop to 1 oz. of water.

Keep Clorox wipes in the bathroom and clean the bathroom when the kids are bathing.
In Word, start a new document of "label" under "mailings" and save them. You use the same addresses over and over again for christenings, birthdays, thank yous, and cards. This lets you edit and print in no time.
That is all I can think of now.

When going out to eat, bring bread/bread sticks or ask for a basket of bread right away (I mean something a little harder than a piece of mushy whitebread--something he has to take small bites of or make mushy first). This has worked since DS started solids. He is 18 months now and it still takes him forever to eat a piece and it keeps him quiet and occupied until the food comes out.

Did this yesterday! DS loves breadsticks
Also when going out to eat, use the Table Toppers. DS loves 'Eating with Elmo" and his food is not touching the table. When we're done eating, table topper comes off and gets thrown away.
I try and do chores while DS naps or when he's in bed for the night. This way I can give him as much attention as possible.
As long as the weather is nice, if you can, take them for a walk, to the park, or let them play out in the yard...If it's cold, bundle them up... The fresh air does both you and DC great!
