I love tripadvisor too but drive myself a little crazy when researching a vacation spot - one bad review turns me off.
For booking, I actually find hotels.com to have great prices and I got a great deal to Prague through Priceline.

Also, Slow Travel (slowtrav.com) is really good.
Venere.com has some good deals and lots of reviews.
