NY but the house is not. It's in Williamsburg, VA (my family is there). We would be paying double if this house were in NY.

Okay!!! I know what you mean!!! DH and I are putting our house on the market pretty soon. We are going to build our dream house in NC. We are looking at either Cary or Briar Creek.
As a matter of fact I am leaving for Virginia on Friday for a couples weekend getaway with some friends.
ETA: Your house is just gorgeous!!! I know it is going to be gorgeous when it is completed.

Thank you! We considered Charlotte, NC (an area called Skyecroft outside of Charlotte) since DH has family there (3 years now) and my family is close (VA) but we really don't know enough about the area to move there. VA felt like the safer choice and close to my family. And still closer than NY for his dad in SC.

love the colors but be advised they look different on screen. drive around the neighborhood and ask others what color they painted/stained their houses.

Thanks. That's what I've been doing too - asking other people what colors they used. Some tell, some don't
