postage stamp price increase
does anyone know if there are any talks about another rate hike in 2018?
i'm wondering if it's too early to buy personalized stamps that i plan to use in october.
slow morning. my mind is wondering

Yes, they went up already.
January 21st to 50 cents.

Are the stamps you want to buy the "forever" stamps - then it wouldn't matter if there is a price increase

I don't believe they normally increase twice in one year - and the increase just went into effect on the 21st I believe so you should be ok.
But do you have your exact invites yet? If the shape is larger than regular mail and it is heavier (if you include rsvp cards etc) it may cost more to mail than a normal forever stamp

the recent increase is the exact reason i'm asking.
if memory serves... the reason they invented the forever stamp was because they did go through a period of rapid increases and people were very angry.
i guess i'll just wait until the spring or summer to order.

wow I feel like I live under a rock. I haven't seen any news at all about the recent increase! I mean it's only .01 right? so it's not a big deal, but I feel like I should have seen or heard something about it.

I thought it was .49 last time I bought them? I don't have the best memory though. I think the cheapest I remember them being was like .33 cents and I was a teenager.

when i was in high school, they were a quarter.
this most recent increase was from $0.49 to $0.50. just a penny
