Potty training and big girl/boy bed... same time?
DD is 2y7mo and took right to potty training this weekend so i'm hoping this is it and she's fully day time trained.
Now, i'm wondering if we should switch her out of the crib also to a big girl bed. Last night she asked to go potty twice before settling down so it got me thinking. But she sleeps great in the crib and i'm not sure if she's still to young to just get up and go herself anyway.
What did you do?

Re: Potty training and big girl/boy bed... same time?
My DD potty trained at 3y4m. About 3'ish weeks after she was trained we switched her to a "big girl" bed. Buuuuut............we didn't put her in a twin so the transition was VERY easy in my case. We just converted her crib by taking down the front rail and replacing it with the short, low one that came with the conversion kit. So for all intents and purposes not too much changed for her.
Congrats on the potty training and good luck with the bed transition!

Re: Potty training and big girl/boy bed... same time?
Our DD's are the exact same age and I think she is ready. Mine has been in a big girl bed for 6 months and is also potty trained. Are you going to a twin/full or a toddler bed? I think it will be easier for her to get out of bed if necessary with a toddler bed.
Good luck and congrats! Its such a great feeling to be done with diapers

Thank you! It's very exciting.
I guess I could just take off the front rail, we do have the conversion kit. I'm scared of her being able to get out by herself though... I like that she's confined in the crib, one less thing to worry about. But I know I can't keep her in it forever.

Re: Potty training and big girl/boy bed... same time?
We just did the switch this weekend. She had been asking for a big girl bed for a LONG time, so we used it as incentive for the potty training. Last week, I made the switch to underware only during the day (pull ups for nap and nighttime), we told her if she went accident free for the week, we would give her, her big girl bed. Mshe did have ONE accident in a week, but we did make the switch, She loves it SO much she has been even been just hanging out in her bed. She just turned 3 last month.

We did potty training first. The big bed ir ordered and should be here next month. They are both big boy/girl things so it works to do them at the same time.

Re: Potty training and big girl/boy bed... same time?
My DS was also potty trained at 2 1/2. If she is sleeping great still in the crib I would leave her since she is still young in my opinion to be getting up to use the potty in the middle of the night by herself. We switched DS to a toddler bed at 24 months only because I was due with #2, otherwise I would have left him a little longer, he transitioned great though. DS just started going to the bathroom all on his own without letting us know or asking us to go with him at 3 years and 2 months.
