potty training help for an 18 mos old

So we think DD is showing signs of potty training readiness..namely taking off her diaper today full of poop and then pointing to it on the living room floor and saying "caca", followed by squatting and then peeing on the floor and pointing and saying "pee pee"Chat Icon We've tried onesies, tight pants etc...so that she keeps the diaper on, but I kid you not this child figures out how to get them off....she should work for David Blaine, bc sometimes I have no clue how she managed to do it... Anyway, I want to start potty training her, but have no idea how to do it with her this young???? Any ideas???

I would get a small potty that you can put on the floor and then just put it in whatever room she spends the most time in.
Show her how to sit on it after she takes her diaper off and see how it goes!

sounds like she could be ready. I tried when my dd was 27 months, and she pooped but wasn't getting the whole pee thing. We are in the process now that I'm home for the summer. She's 2 years 8 months. I think consistency is key. My friend told me that she did nothing for an entire week and trained her 2 year old boy.
Buy a potty chair and have her sit on it. I also bought a DVD called Go Potty, Go! Good luck!

I have no real experience with this but I know that it's possible. I have a much younger cousin who started showing signs of being ready very young. My aunt had her totally potty trained well before her 2nd birthday! I think if she's interested you should give it a try!Chat Icon
