Potty Training Suggestions??

Well, my daughter will be three in three weeks. She is potty trained ONLY when she has nothing on her bottom. She'll do everything in the potty. The minute I put undies on her, she gets wet. I've been trying for the last few days. Do I just keep at it or is there some trick any mommies might have for me? How do I get her to understand that undies are not pull ups. She doesn't seem to mind being wet. Potty training is very frustrating. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Potty Training Suggestions??

my daughter did the same thing she would have accidents in the underwear but she would come and say I all wet.

What I did was every hour I would put her on the toilet and then regardless if she went or not I made up a pee pee song

also I would give her stickers or a little toy something from the 99 cent store whenever she really did go on the toilet.

It does take time and can be very frustrating at times

Re: Potty Training Suggestions??

i think you should keep at it. she is getting it she is just a little confused. If it helps I actually call the pull-ups "panties" so that to her they are the same thing b/c my dd was getting confused too...but now she knows that regardless still has to use the toilet. It worked she is almost 3 and fully potty trained. Chat Icon

Thanks for the suggestions. I have been doing the stickers. I guess I'll just keep at it. Tonight I put undies on her and she's been dry. Consistency I guess is the key. I really appreciate your help. I think I'll try the dollar store idea.

She also might not be ready yet. Everyone is eager to get them trained as early as possible, but sometimes they aren't ready until a little later. Usually, if they don't show signs of letting you know they need to go, and/or they don't care about being wet, they might need to wait a little while.
