POtty training when you are a working mom
SO how do you do it when you work full time? This past week Sara tells me whenver she is wet or poops . She doesnt like the feeling in her diaper anymore. SHould I just ask the babysitter to start training or do I wait until summer ( I am a teacher) and do it myself?
My son basically trained himself when he was alittle over 3 years old.
ALso do you think I should get pull ups - she does take off her clothes and diaper herself .
Thanks

Sounds like she might be ready. I would experiment with potty training this weekend and if she you have any bit of success I'd have the baby-sitter follow your lead. Good luck!

Re: POtty training when you are a working mom
I could not have done it without the help of his daycare. They are the ones that actually got him started using the toilet. Nate is 100% day trained, he still wears pull-ups at night. He's a horrible sleeper so I'm not ready to have him waking up in the middle of the night.
You need to get the babysitter to reinforce and back you up. Good Luck!

Re: POtty training when you are a working mom
I would definitely ask the babysitter for help. Maddie was pretty much trained herself at home. The daycare she was in claimed she was too young to be trained, but there she was every weekend with not one wet diaper. I think it was very confusing for her to be ignored when she was asking to go potty.
Even if your babysitter starts asking her, "Do you need to go potty?" and sits her on it when she tends to go (usually 1-2 hours after they eat in my house). You can also start limiting drinks at night after dinner for nighttime training.

If you think she is ready now then I would ask the babysitter to start right away.
