Power Wheels for a 5 year
DS wants that Mustang power wheels for his 5th birthday and he has been asking for over a year now. I reallly want to get it but I am afraid he will be too big for it. He is about 45" and 44 lbs. Do you have any "power wheels" recommendations for his size?
TIA

Re: Power Wheels for a 5 year
We just got a mustang for our boys and they love it. here is a pic. (please don't quote). My oldest is 4 and he's about 40 lbs and 41 inches. He fits fine in it.
we found walmart.com had the cheapest price and we had it shipped to the store so it was free shipping.

my kids have the escalade... they love that thing and it has quite alot of power.. there'll usually be 3 in there and one on the hood and one on the back.. all the kids love it. even the big kids (7-8)

We have the Mustang, DS got it when he was about 5. Honestly i would go for something like a ATV/motorcycle style. He got a lot of use out of it but outgrew it quickly. He probably got a good year and a half out of it.

My 2 1/2 dd has the escalade. I am able to fit in it with her, maybe not comfy, but it works! . Toys r us has them for a good discount every so often.

DS has had the jeep since 3. We is 48" and 45# and still uses it, but use has definitely decreased.
my neice just got a motocycle/moped for her 8th bday - she loves it. She is tall for her age.

Thats the one I was looking to buy and it is the same one he REALLY wants.

Thats what my husband says too.
I just feel bad because he REALLY wants the mustang (above post) and I hate to buy something different if the mustang is what he really wanted.
If he could get a good year out of it, then it may not be so bad since I have a DD who could use it later.
How does the mustang handle power wise? I researched and the ATV is supposed to handle very well on grass and concrete, not too much wheel slippage.

Re: Power Wheels for a 5 year
We have the Jeep Hurricane because my DD is 4 and 43lbs. She can ride in it with my 2 yr old next to her and it's unisex so he will be inheriting it when she's done. It has a lot of power. I loved the Escalade but it's way too small for the kids to fit comfortable. I took my DD to the store and had he sit in all of the models with my DS to see which one would be best. I didn't feel like anything would give me as much time out of it as the Jeep.

Yeah my 4 yr old specifically asked for the mustang too. He loves it. LOL that was his first time in it. He's hysterical!

We are going with a Jeep as well probably for Christmas. My nephew got a jeep pw when he was 3ish. He is now 9 and although too tall for it, he can still ride in it if he wants. HIm and his sisters have beat the snot out of that thing and its great. My BIL actually had to replace the tires but its still running. Not only do they put 2 kids in it (usually the 9 yo and the 5 yo) but they attach a wagon and pull the other 2 who are 4 and 2.....
