I have posted before about my Dad's battle with pancreatic cancer. We have gotten good news from the scans done a few weeks ago and the tumor marker blood tests. So, in general we are encouraged and positive.
But, the last few days have been pretty rough on him. He's is in a lot pain and vomited fluid yesterday. We're not sure what it is -- cancer-related or a chemo side effect. Now they are talking that he may have some type of blockage and may need to have a stent (he has two already) replaced. We are all so worried and scared, esp because we just don't know for sure what is going on right now.
Please say prayers for him that this is something that is routine and not a big deal... and that his positive test results and healing continue.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
*** UPDATE, 01/23.07 ***
Well, they have decided to take a wait and see approach. Dad had had a CT scan on Friday (for another reason) and the medical team pulled the scans and looked at them and there was no sign of a blockage. His bloodwork from Fri didn't show signs of one either. He is advancing his diet and we are watching closely. If anything else bad happens, we will contact the medical team immediately and he will have some testing done to see what the cause is. In the meantime - he has started to feel a bit better and was able to hold down liquid and light food yesterday... and so far breakfast today.
Thank you for your prayers and please keep them up that this is a passing episode ... and for his healing in general! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it and how encouraging it is to see the support that people on this board give!
