Prayers needed
Went to my regular 22 week checkup today and Dr. noticed a skip in the babies heartbeat(something I picked up on my doppler 4 days ago). There could be an array of reasons for this skip including congestive heart failure or a congenital defect. I cried all the way home from my appt on the phone with my husband and mom, thank god my gf came with me. They referred me to Stonybrook for a fetal echocardiogram. Please keep my little girl in your prayers...... Gina

I'm so sorry I went to a terrific pediatric cardiologist to have my fetal echocardiogram done. Her name was Dr. Rose affiliated with Good Sam. She really took the time to explain the procedure and what she was looking for (my DH had a history of heart defect on his side).

PLEASE try to not freak out. It is not good for you and the baby. Sometimes we tend to think the worse. It may be nothing.
I will pray for you and your baby. We are both 22 weeks pregnant and I am also having some issues with this pregnancy. So I know what you are going through.
If your baby does have a cardiac defect, I highly recommend geting a second opinion at the Children's Hospital of NY it's the 4th best Children's hospital in the country and they have AMAZING ped's cardiac surgeons. (I use to work there as a PICU nurse). I am going to have my baby there because of our situation.
