Just got a call from my brother. One of his childhood friends died this morning on the job.
He was working on the roof of a house, when he got electrocuted, got thrown off the house from the shock & broke his neck.
He was going to have his first child in 3 weeks.
I just feel stunned right now.
My brother had just run into him over the weekend after not seeing each other for some time & he was telling my brother how excited he was about the upcoming birth of his unborn child. He was saying how his life was going good for him - for once in a long time.
Tomorrow is NEVER a guarantee...this is sinking into me more and more today
Earlier this year, my husbands cousin fell 9 floors through scaffolding on a building he was working on in Manhattan. That too, was all over the news and was a major loss for family & friends. He was supposed to get married this past July.
Life just isn't fair. This year has been exceptionally hard.
