Pre K teachers - how much and what?

I know, I know its probably been asked before but if you dont mind

How much are you spending on your childs pre k teacher for the holidays and what are you getting?

For my DD's nursery teacher we're chipping in $15 (for 3 teachers) & then I'm buying probably $15-20. giftcard and $10. DD cards for asst's.

As a PK teacher our parents chip in $10. (for the entire school) & teachers get $100. & assts. get $50. & then a number of parents buy on the side; mainly giftcards (which we love).

Thanks for replying. My DD has two teachers in her class - the main teacher and the assistant - I dont want to give different gifts as the assistant seems to do as much as the main teacher.

I was thinking amex GC's for $50 each and then something small like cute clipboards with memo pads..is this enough for each of them?

My plan is to get something for $5 each (teacher+1assistant) DD only goes 2 days a week just 4 hrs a day. Or give the same amount if parents decide to collect money instead. I think some parents even give a gift to a director/principal, we are not doing that....

The way I look at it I gave $25 to each of DD's nursery teachers last year and there were 5 of them so it was $125...this year there are only two teachers so it will cost about the same even if I give them $50 each plus a small gift.

Plus her teacher are fantastic and she has learned so much already from them that I really do appreciate them and the work they do.

DS goes 3 days a week to a 2 yr old program and has a teacher and an assistant. I bought really cute cupcake candles from Kohls. They are getting one of those along with a giftcard for $20 or $25. I haven't decided what gift card yet.

I am probably spending about $20 each for 3 teachers. I went to Yankee Candle a couple of weeks back and got a good deal on small jar candles so they will each get one of those. I also got Vermont's Pure maple syrup nips--they each come in a small 4oz jug so they will get one of those too. Then I got $10 gift cards from Barnes & Noble. I am wrapping all of that up with a holiday hand-towel & cellophane.

This never even occurred to me that I had to get them gifts (it's our 1st year) so thanks for posting!
