Re: prednisone
Prednisone is CRAZY ... Emily has been on it twice now. It makes her so hyper. I have video of her literally running around in circles ---- something she did a few nights in a row for like 40 minutes each night.
Does your son have asthma? We have had it over here since about January and are managing it really WELL with pulmicort.
Let me know if you have any questions (or just want to vent) about the whole thing...my DH also has severe asthma so I know a bit about it.

Re: prednisone
He is like a raging 16 yr old in an 8-month old body! He literally pulls himself up in his sleep to a sitting position, then falls back down rolls around and back to sleep. His limbs twitch with nervous energy. He is so restless I can barely change his diaper and he has a major attitude on this stuff!! Very unlike my normally laid back baby!! He grunts in frustration because he can't crawl fast enough to whatever inch of the house he is trying to check out. It's kinda funny to see, but scary too.
Yes, it's for "early asthma" - basically chronic chest congestion following each wonderful cold he picks up at daycare. He has a milk protein allergy and eczema so they are really leaning toward asthma (though no family history....go figure). He's on prednisone and albuterol for 'rescue' meds, and then pulmicort for maintenance. He does sound so much better with all this treatment. He's also getting tubes in his ears next week and is on antibiotics and ear drops for a ruptured ear drum following a bad infection. Kind of a secondary issue from the colds/chest problems, but also a major concern. He is going thru alot and i just can't wait til he's better.
I have heard GREAT Things about pulimcort, he'll be on that for maintenance for the next 3-6 months depending on how he does. At this point going down to just 2x/day neb treatments would be a walk in the park. I am damn florence nightengale lately, I feel like I should have a PhD w/all the meds I"m giving him
