Pregnancy and Eating
Now that you are pregnant, do you feel like you can eat whatever you want or do you still watch what you eat?
Like if there is a piece of chocolate cake in front of you, do you debate should I have or should I not have OR just go for it (hey, you are pregnant, why not)
Just curious.

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
I'm only 7 weeks, and so far I've been eating pretty much the same as I did before. Except this week i started feeling really nauseous and can only eat carbs or nothing. So I've actually been eating less, but when I DO eat, it isn't great choices.
Hopefully I can control cravings, but I don't deny myself the chocolate cake once in a while if I want it. Everything in moderation, right?

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
At this point, I pretty much eat whatever I want... The nausea has subsided so Im trying to eat a little better, but when cupcakes and chocolate are in front of me, I go for it... Making up for lost times the past couple of weeks LOL

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
I totally just go for it! I see it like this - I will make sure to lose it but if I crave it am eating it To be fair I thought I would be A LOT worse then what I actually am. I think once I stopped denying myself of things I was over them and didn't even want them.

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
I try to be good but if there's something I just really really want, I let myself indulge. I find myself getting hungrier lately so I'm trying to supplement with healthier choices for snacks during the day. But if I just gotta have Chipotle, I'm going to Chipotle

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
I was soooo good in the begining, and now I am eating whatever I want. I really need to break that habit!!!
It also doesnt help when everyone I work with feels the need to feed me because i am preggo. They're always bringing me in goodies. I am OK with that (of course lol), but it makes it harder to eat well!

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
I had baked chicken with broccoli rabe and peas for dinner last night while the kids had amazingly delicious macaroni and cheese that I longed for. Does that answer your question?
If I ate whatever I wanted I'd be the size of a house by now. I can eat like a football player so I need to watch (AND work out) or I WILL get dangerously huge.
Seriously...it's scary how much I could eat if I were to just let go!

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
Nope I leaned my lesson by eating what ever I wanted with my 1st pregnancy, caused me to have my DD emergency c-section at 37 weeks, my BP was sky high. I had to watch what I ate and stayed away from high sodium foods, with my DS and now this pregnancy! Its ok to cheat here or there with food, but I would never go over board!
I also bought myself a BP kit so I can take it everyday to make sure its normal.

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
I'm definitely eating more than I was pre-pregnancy -- I had bad MS for the first 18 weeks and carbs were the only thing that made me feel better, so that is all i ate. Now i'm at 3 full meals a day with about 3-4 daily snacks and I'm drinking chocolate milk like it's going out of style.

Re: Pregnancy and Eating
I was pretty much eating what I wanted but never tons of sweets...just not what I wanted.
Since my hospital stay I am more on a 3 meal a day diet and not in the mood for tons of snacks.

Me too! My downfall lately is potato chips :( I don't really have cravings but when I want a snack I always choose chips over healthier options like fruit and veggies I'm so bad lately! I'm trying not to be that much of a pig though. I really don't want to gain any unecessary weight because I couldn't control myself and I want the baby to get all the nutrients she needs. I just can't seem to help myself sometimes!
