Pregnancy Blood Work - Question
I went in today for my 2nd round of blood work.........it's been 3 days since I first went in. (I am 4wks. 3days) Anyway, they wanted to see that my hormone levels increased by 60%. Long story short, they did increase by 60% but they said they expected it would be a little more given it's been 3 days since my last visit as opposed to 2.
Anyway, they said not to be concerned because all of my numbers look really good but they want me to come back Monday to check everything again.
Question - Did you guys have a similar experience at all? Do you think I need to be concerned? The doctor said not to be but I can't help it. Advice please!!! Thanks!!!!!!

Really? They didn't want you back in 2 days to see that your levels were doubling? I thought everyone went back right away to check. Maybe they are just checking me more because I'm seeing an RE and they want to keep close tabs on everything. Interesting....I had no idea they normally wait so long.

Totally normal, I went to see an RE too, I went in for my initial bloodwork and then went back 3 days later just to make sure my levels were going up.
As soon as they saw a sac and heartbeat they stopped taking blood and concentrated on the baby. What were your levels and what did they go up to?

I didn't ask for the numbers (I will when I go Monday) BUT they did said after my first round of blood work that I had strong numbers for my first BETA and then today they said everything went up 60% from Wed. and my BETA looked really good again but they want me in one more time just to make sure everything continues along.
They did not sound at all concerned.....I think they just want to be safe and give me more piece of mind. We'll see....I'm sure everything is fine and I am just freaking myself out!!

Re: Pregnancy Blood Work - Question
I wouldnt be too worried. I went in on Tuesday because I wasnt feeling well and was sent for bloodwork immediately and then was sent again for blood work 2 days later.
Everything came back fine. My numbers didnt exactly double but they went up substantially and the doctor is not worried.
If your doctor isnt worried I know it's hard but dont worry yourself.

Re: Pregnancy Blood Work - Question
It sounds like your numbers are good. In my experience, the REs like to really have everything confirmed. At my 6 week u/s I measured behind by 2-3 days. RE sounded concerned and I had a 7 week u/s, where the baby was growing as expected. I think he was just more cautious b/c my OB didn't seem concerned at all at my 8 week u/s, which was still 2-3 days behind (the baby caught up by the 12 week u/s).
