What are the rules on flying while pregnant?

I heard you can't fly in the 1st or last trimester. Is that true? Chat Icon

Re: pregnant and flying

My Doc just told me last week he would prefer if I wait till well into 2nd trimester and not after 33 weeks, most airlines won't take you after 36 weeks anyway, drink plenty of water and if it is a long flight get up and walk around a lot

I flew in my first trimester at 10weeks..just tell your doctor. Like the other poster stated stay hydrated and get up often to walk around.

Re: pregnant and flying

I was told 1st semester and 2nd semester and even much of the 3rd semester is fine. Drink water....stretch your legs! I think the biggest problem you'll have is being comfortable, I wasn't and I was 15 weeks when we flew to PR. flying is more comfy to me than driving though. My Sister in law wanted us to fly to oregon this past july when i was 7 months preggo and I just knew I'd be too uncomfortable so I didn't go.
