Pregnant Teachers - When Did You Tell Your Students?
So we announced it on FB last night and I will be telling my boss today that I am expecting - I am 14 weeks. I would actually put off telling them, but my DH was dying to post it on FB and I couldn't tell him no. He is just so excited.
When did you tell your students? If this makes a difference - I teach HS. I am not showing yet although some of my outfits are starting to feel slightly snug. I now realize I only own pencil skirts and skinny pants and those are no good for bloat.

Re: Pregnant Teachers - When Did You Tell Your Students?
Last time I was pregnant, my students outed me. I show early and one of my students came in and said, "Mrs. M is pregnant" and they all got excited and said congrats, so I was forced to come out! I was less than 12 weeks I think.
I am now currently 11 weeks (starting to show) and I'm going to tell my boss this week. Not sure when I'm going to tell my students. Thankfully, none of them are asking me yet!!! I will probably tell them within the next few weeks.
I teach middle school.

Pregnant Teachers - When Did You Tell Your Students?
I think about this everyday. I also teach HS- and I teach at a Career & Tech HS so I spend 2.5 hours a day with the same kids for 2 years. I swore my 2nd year students would catch on. I told my bosses around week 7-8 bc I was so sick and thought about explaining it to my kids then bc I was so miserable, but it was too early. My population is 99% male. I only have a total of 5 female students between both classes- 1 caught on. I've been debating on when it's the right time to tell them. I just keep wearing sweatshirts over my clothes - my room is freezing anyways.

I told my students at 19 weeks when I couldn't hide it anymore (and after my anatomy scan). The minute I told them they all claimed that they had known it since September! I guess my students are just polite and waited for me to share!

I teach elementary and first time I told them at 4 months and this time I came back to school in September already 18weeks pregnant so I told them within two weeks. They were very cute and told me "we thought so!"

I used to be a teacher and just from personal experience, I say wait as long as possible. Of course the odds of anything happening is EXTREMELY rare, but it was my reality. I had my first pregnancy loss at 17 1/2weeks and had to explain to them why I was out temporarily since they already knew I was pregnant. It was extremely difficult.
