Presents they left...
Ok, so you know we are gutting our house...
Well, this takes the cake. We are ripping out the kitchen cabinets, so I climbed up on the counter to wipe off the layers of dirt I expected to be on top of them, and this is what I found....
W T F?!!! Approximately 20 old toothbrushes, chopsticks, about 50 keys to G-d knows what...keychains included, tons of business cards to doctors, pet groomers, etc, I don't even know how many pieces of paper with notes scrawled on them, mostly license plate numbers and car makes...one with the neighbors name on it  , a 1939 Worlds Fair pin, a 1965 LIRR schedule, a bullet, glass slats for the storm door, a pack of SCREENS and a small pipe  , razor blades, screws, tacks, and just tons of GARBAGE!!!! WHAT THE F*CK WAS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE??? Oh, let me just throw this junk ON TOP OF THE CABINETS for safe keeping???!!!!!
Oh, and just for good measure, they left this treasure for us over the washer and dryer...
I must laugh, or I will cry...

OMG that is awesome - what is the matter with people
Dont throw away the 1939 worlds fair pin, it may be worth something on ebay lol
Makes you wonder why they have the liscence plate number of the neighbor. Thankgod you bought their house, and didnt live next to them - Who knows, your liscence plate number could be on top of their cabinets too

Yeah, we kept the pin...
I really believe from the stories I've heard, and the things we have found, that these people were mentally ill...
We met some of the neighbors last week, and it seems that no one really got along with these people, he was the neighborhood ogre...
We kind of had a feeling (chest high bushes all around the edge of the property is certainly not welcoming), but they were telling us horrible stories!!
The guy would yell at all the neighborhood kids for playing in front of his house, screamed at a little girl for turning her bike around in his driveway, forbid anyone to go into his backyard to retrieve a ball, etc. They had to BEG him every year to sign the petition for a block party, and then he would call the cops at exactly 10pm.
The best is, we saw this rope running through the bushes lining the side of the property. We could not figure out what it was for, thought maybe it was keeping them from falling over or something...Well, apparently it is there to keep the neighbors kids out of his bushes!!!
Needless to say, they were VERY happy we bought the house!!!!

oh gosh..
sell the burt reynolds pic on ebay. I am sure someone will really want it. Maybe have a garage sale because you know someone elses junk is someone elses treasure

OMG - That picture is hysterical!!
I feel for you. The top of our cabinets was disgusting too - but honestly, it was just like and inch of dust and grease. Nothing compared to yours!!!
