Pressure and slight cramping

I'm 33w 1d and the past few days I've had a ton of pressure 'down there', concentrated around my pelvis. I just tried to do a search and but apparently 'pressure' is marked as an ignored word Chat Icon

ANYway, I'm sure it's normal but figured I'd check to be sure. Anyone experience this?

Re: Pressure and slight cramping

Im 33 w and 5 days...and I feel the same way. It was worse a few days ago...which is hopefully good news for you. Walking around was completely uncomfortable and I have this heavy feeling down there.. Also, i was having extreme soreness in the top of my pubic bone...it felt like i got kicked. Ive read this is the pubic bones seperating due to pressure of the baby down there. It has defiately eased up later on in the week...hope you feel better.
hang in there.

Re: Pressure and slight cramping

I am 27 weeks and 4 days, so I am not sure if this is going to help you. I haven't been experiencing that since I was around 16 or 17 weeks.

It was alot of pressure down there and it eventually went away. To look back on it, I think it was the round ligament pain and I aggravated by working out to hard.

But at 33 weeks, I am not sure if this can happen. Logically, I think it can, because you are stretching and growing.

When did it start? Do you know if you did anything that might have aggravated anything?

Re: Pressure and slight cramping

I was actually going to make a post about this. I have had pelvic pressure for a few weeks now and in the last few days it has become unbearable. I am going to the doctor tomorrow but am begining to get nervous, that this is not normal. Tomorrow I'll be 34 weeks.

Re: Pressure and slight cramping

Thanks everyone! While it's uncomfortable so I wouldn't wish it on others, it is comforting to hear that other people have had / have the same feeling.

I found this, for those of you that have been feeling the same thing. I'll def mention it at my next appt (Wed) but since it does get better when I lay down, I'll assume it fits in the normal category even though I'm less than 35w.

Vaginal pressure
As the baby?s head descends into the birth canal or engages in the last month of pregnancy, vaginal pressure is common and nothing to worry about. If descent of the baby happens earlier, it can be a sign of preterm labor and should be evaluated. The more babies you have had, the more likely you are to experience some normal (if uncomfortable) vaginal pressure as your uterus grows.

Can usually wait for office hours: A heaviness or pressure sensation in the pelvic or vaginal area that resolves when you lie down.
Call immediately:. If you are less than 35 weeks and are having significant pressure within your vagina that doesn't resolve with rest.

Re: Pressure and slight cramping

I just posted on the parenting site to see if any new mommies had this......I only received one response.

She said that she had this several weeks before hand. I also did a search and it can be a sign that the baby is dropping. The rectal pressure can really start two to four weeks before delivery but cramping is throughout.

I am 34 weeks and was concerned because I did not have this with DS.

Re: Pressure and slight cramping

I too am starting to notice more cramping and pressure. I was actually very nervous the other night, I thought I was starting to go into labor because it is a totally new feeling.
