Preterm labor or paranoia?
I'm like 90% sure I'm crazy. I'm 34w5 with my second baby. My first baby my water broke at 38w4. It was coming out in little spurts. Not even enough to go through my pants. So I walked around in labor for 30 hrs before I realized what was going on. I guess I was in denial. Now with this pregnancy, I am super paranoid. So this morning I woke up and my panties were wet, but I figured it was sweat. (I know, gross). I just came back from Target and again my underwear are wet. It's wet towards the back so I know it's not pee. This is the same spot I saw wet with my son. I have also been seeing mucous in the toilet for about a week. I'm not sure if I am having contractions. I feel pressure pushing down. If it is contractions though, they are not painful, frequent, etc. If I call my dr, I am positive she will send me to L&D which I do not want. I have a 2 yr old and limited babysitters. I have a dr appointment Thurs morning, but it's only Tues afternoon now. My plan as of right now is to wait and see if anything else happens. I changed my underwear and I'm home now, out of the heat. Just want to hear any thoughts you might have. Thank you in advance.

When I was in labor with both kids I knew it. If you're running errands, I don't think you're having contractions.

That's what I thought with DS1! But I thought I was peeing myself and having Braxton Hicks + back pain. Denial is a very serious affliction lol. I went to BRU and bought the crib and did a full shopping at Walmart, all leaking amnio fluid! 30 hours later, I spoke to my friend and she said, you are in labor -- get to the hospital! I finally went to the hospital and got an emergency csection. I was out of water and 7 cm dilated! I arrived at 5:30 pm and my son was born at 7 pm! I think because that was such a strange and almost traumatic experience I'm on high alert now lol!!

Preterm labor or paranoia?
Because of your history I would call your doctor. Maybe they can squeeze you in instead of you having to go to L&D. Good luck!

I agree. Even if you're not having contractions, if you are leaking fluid or your water did break, you should get checked out. Good luck!

Yeah... I don't actually think I'm contracting much if at all. I think I might be leaking fluid. But can that just happen preterm for basically no reason? Im low risk and nothing happened to cause my water to break.

I don't know much about what causes fluid to leak but I did need an induction due to low fluid with DD1 but that was at 38.5 weeks. I had no idea i was even leaking. All I know was that I was told to call if I thought I was leaking fluid and they still tell me that every time I go in. I don't call for every little thing but that I would. Even if it's just for peace of mind.

I would call your dr. I had the same thing and they brought me in to do a strip test. Doing that will tell them if your water has broken. I just got tested last week for it albeit I was there for an appointment already and mentioned it so they checked just to be sure. Like you, I walked around with a slow leak with my first and didn't know it. I totally thought I was just peeing myself.

Re: Preterm labor or paranoia?
I'm the paranoid type, so if it were me, I'd probably be calling my Dr.

Re: Preterm labor or paranoia?
I would call, maybe they can fit you in, bc it's a simple test. Or maybe wait till DH gets home and can watch your other little one? But since you did have that happen before, I do feel like I'd be cautious, infection can happen when your water breaks after a certain time frame, maybe 48 hrs?, so that would be too long to wait till your thurs appt.
