price of christening
Approximatley how much did you spend on the christening for your DC? I'm beginning to plan DD's and I want to get an idea of cost.

Re: price of christening
Caiden - $960 Connor - $450
The difference was the amount of people. We live out of state and couldn't have the Baptism in NY so it was a lot less people.

Re: price of christening
100 people about $4,000. We have a big family. I think we paid $33 ++ a person but it adds up, more than we wanted to spend for sure.

Re: price of christening
We spent a little over $1000. We had a Saturday brunch for about 30 people.

Re: price of christening
We also had a Saturday event, but it was more like a lunch with dinner foods. We decided not to do an open bar because we felt people would not be drinking that much on a Saturday afternoon. We ran a tab at the bar and then paid for it at the end and it came out cheaper than if it were an open bar. Also, many places charge adult prices for people older than 12 or 13. They will then charge you the open bar fee for all of those people, even though they can't drink.
We ended up paying a bit over $2k for DD's.

Re: price of christening
I chose under $500, including invites, favors, his christening outfit and brunch. We had a Sunday brunch at a restaurant in the city for about 25 people.

Re: price of christening
Both kids, at home, close family, WAY under $500. Don't see the point of having a huge party. To me it is a waste of money. Money that can go for something else for your child.
