priceline.com for cars??

Anyone ever rent a car from priceline? I hate that it doesnt tell you any info until you book it, but i like that i can get a car for $20 a day with the name your own price part. sounds almost too good to be true..tia

I've never used priceline, but I have used hotwire.

To me, they promise a major brand rental, and a car is a car so I dont really care which brand.

I think these kind of websites are the way to go for cars. Its not like a hotel where you dont know the exact location.

I don't know too many people who have a real preference hertz vs national vs buget etc.

I've done it and haven't had any problems. I ended up getting a car through Enterprise I believe...

I've gotten really good prices recently directly through Alamo using my BJs member discount so I haven't used Priceline in awhile.

I used Priceline. I got a a car through enterprise I think. It was 15.00 and when I go there they didn't have compact so the upgraded me. I would do it again!

I think the only thing that would be a potential inconvenience is that not all car rentals are right at the airport, some require you to take a shuttle to their lot. I don't know if that matters to you or not. If it was just DH and I it wouldn't be a big deal, but when we're travelling with DS it does make a difference to us.

Yes- it worked out well. We got a car in Jacksonville for $14 a day- I believe it was through either Avis or Hertz.
