Probably a really dumb question (computer related)
I have a laptop, if i have it fully charged and buy a dvd for it, would i be able to play a dvd on it. I'm just trying to avoid buying a portable DVD player.

yes! but the batteries on laptops run out much faster than those of portable DVD players.
When buying a laptop check and test the battery life, it will get lower and lower the older the battery is. You can buy fresh new batteries, and larger batteries for better life.

I did that for years, but it is a PITA having to boot up the computer, start the player, make sure DC don't touch all the buttons and stop the movie, etc.
I wound up getting a portable DVD player anyway. It's so much more convenient.
The laptop will definitely work, however. You can easily play a full movie on most laptop batteries.
