Probably the dumbest food related question...
When you say you give DC cereal plus veggie or fruit does that mean they are getting a bowl of cereal plus the food or are you mixing the 2 together?
This morning I thought I'd try giving DS some cereal and fruit and was alternating between what the spoon was full of but he hated it. Just wanted one or the other. Am I doing something wrong?

We mixed them together to flavor the cereal. We would sneak in vegetables in between spoonfuls of fruit.

I put the cereal and fruit side by side in the bowl and scoop down the middle, so its half cereal half fruit on the spoon. DD has had only cereal or only fruit too, and likes it either way.

I used to do side by side, now I just mix...it's easier for me, and she doesnt seem to care.

We mix it together so the cereal tastes like fruit or we buy the jarred cereals with fruit in them (oatmeal with pears or tice cereal with applesauce)

i NEVER EVER mixed until I was sure that she would eat the oatmeal seperately from her veg or fruit jess.... remember that day at the mall? oatmeal first then fruit!

I started out by giving my son oatmeal on its own. Then I progressed to adding it to the oatmeal, so he would get used to the taste. Now I can alternate either way and he will eat it either way.

This is what I do. I usually put them in the same bowl for conveniance and some spoonfuls are mixed and some are just cereal and some just veggie or fruit.
He will certainly eat whatever is on the spoon though!
