Problems with incision from C-Section

I'm a little over 6 weeks post partum and today my incision was irritating me... I checked and there's a little bit of blood on my undies where it rests against the incision. The incision seems a little red and open at the very corner. The nurse said it could be that my body is rejecting the knot at the end of the suture.... anyone else have this? It's really grossing me out Chat Icon

I had it, and I was fine.. i put peroxide n neosporin on it for a few days n covered it w/ a bandaid....

I had the dr. look at it and he says it completly normal... it was like picking a scab!

I didn't have exactly what you had but I did have a problem with the healing. I got a seroma (sp?) which is basically a little tiny bubble of trapped fluid in one part of the incision (gross, I know). I didn't know what to do but it just kept getting worse so I finally went to see my GYN and he said I did the right thing. They had to drain it and put me on antibiotics all over again just in case.

Just to be on the safe side, you should have it looked at.

ETA: It happened to me at about 5 weeks pp.

How's your incision? I had mine open a little and then it became a lot. Keep an eye on it. I also developed a massive infection. My incision stayed open until the second week of oct. and I gave birth on July 14th! It was a miserable experience and I hope that it doesn't ever happen again with the next child whenever that may be!

Insist on being seen by the OB, not a nurse. I would rather be safe than sorry. I had a huge allergic reaction in my incision..what an f'ing mess that was.

Maggie...it does not have to happen again because you can VBAC next timeChat Icon

What cracks me up is how people say c/s is a "nothing surgery"Chat Icon
