Product Rave- Garnier BB Cream
I will preface this by saying I have BAD skin. Really bad. Huge pores, acne scars, imperfections everywhere, redness, tiny pimples on my cheek that never go away, just get smaller or larger, it goes on and on.
Foundation for me is really hard to find because everything just seems to either sit on top of the imperfections and highlight them, or sink into them, making them even more noticeable. Most liquid foundations do nothing to cover them, just color them.
I started using Bare Minerals again and though it's better than liquids it was still not great.
I saw all the commericals for the Garnier BB cream and decided to give it a shot. I even bought it at Ulta because they take returns on makeup- because I just KNEW it would be going back, with my track record.
Well this stuff is great! After putting it on I could actually leave the house with no make up on. (and for me that is NO small feat!) I used a foundation brush to apply it (someone had recommended this in an online review I read) and then just used my fingers to put on a little extra on my problem spots/spots where I am very red. It didn't look like I had a ton of make up on, but my skin looked SOOOO much better. Glowing actually.
For work, I still put my bare minerals foundation over it- but I use so much less and it goes on so much smoother and cleaner. And on the weekends I can actually just get away with the BB cream.
Just had to rave because NOTHING really works on my skin so when something actually helps- I want to shout it from the roof tops!

Wow! Thanks for the review. It sounds as if you and I have similar skin issues. I'll definitely give it a try!

I read mixed reviews on it but based on your skin, which sounds like mine, I'll try it.

Re: Product Rave- Garnier BB Cream
Yes I really didn't think it would work on me. My skin usually needs a lot more than a product like this- or a tinted mositurizer. But to be honest- I think I am finding that with bad skin, less is more. I think a lot of the makeups out there really just accentuate and draw attention to the flaws.
I still put my bare minerals over it- but I could have totally gotten away with that...especially on the weekend or something.

I'm surprised you like Bare Minerals. I feel it's terrible coverage unless you have nearly flawless skin, KWIM? I have it, but whenever I use it, it never looks good on me.
I still want to try the Murad Mattifier, but can't swallow the price yet. I am sure I will give in soon.

I find the trick with Bare Minerals is you have to use a REALLY good silcone based primer. I hate the Bare Minerals primer. I use Loreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base. It makes the bare minerals go on much smoother and not sink right into pores, acne scars, fine lines, etc

Re: Product Rave- Garnier BB Cream
I went out yesterday and bought this cream because of your review.
It is awesome!!! I don't have the best skin either and this makes my skin look beautiful. The only thing I don't like is the fragrance -- way too much!!

Re: Product Rave- Garnier BB Cream
Okay...I bought this too today. Haven't tried it yet but I will and report back. I had to drive to 4 different CVS' to get it in the light color (I am like white on rice). I had a 25% off coupon for CVS so I got it for cheaper.
ETA: Okay just put some on quickly before I started dinner. I have to say - Not bad! My skin doesn't look perfect but it does look smoother and more evenly toned. I have pale red splotchy skin and I think took the redness away. I will say that I don't find it that moisturizing - probably because my skin is REALLY dry right now. No matter how much I moisturize. I think I am gonna try Hyaluronic acid. Apparently it hold 1000% its weight in water and its a naturally occuring thing in the human body. Supposed to moisturize like crazy. BUT - that's another post.

Re: Product Rave- Garnier BB Cream
Glad others liked it too!
Yes, the fragrance is definitely a bit strong, but I find that it wears off, so I really don't smell it throughout the day- just when I am first putting it on.
I use a little bit of my regular mositurizer underneath because like another poster said, it's not the best for moisture.
It definitely doesn't cover 100% like a foundation, but I find that I can build the coverage on my really red areas by putting a little extra on those spot.
All in all it allows me to leave the house without foundation- which is the miracle of all miracles with my skin!

Re: Product Rave- Garnier BB Cream
I am gonna amend my review and say I LOVE this stuff. NOW - I will admit it isn't a miracle cream (but really? Did anyone REALLY expect it to be) but I have to say that now that I have applied it in the morning after my morning ritual of moisturizing I am impressed. Even with my pale blotchy skin it seems to be working well, and I am not red at all. I STILL have pimples, but they are extremely less noticeable. All I did was put the BB cream on this morning and some brown mascara and I look refreshed and bright.

Re: Product Rave- Garnier BB Cream
I used it today, for the first time. By itself it did improve how my skin looked, but I can't leave the house without a mask , so I use it as a primer over my moisturize & under my Revlon Color stay, and so far my makeup is lasting much longer than it did yesterday usuing Benefit's the POREfessional as my primer.
I find tgis tones down the red better than other primers--even green ones. Usually I look ok in the morning, but the red shows though my foundationby the afternoon.

I agree it doesn't cover as much as a regular foundation, but I think it makes my skin look better than foundation does. It's much more natural looking. After putting it on I just hit some of my trouble spots with some concealer and also I use a little bit Benefit Hello Flawless and it looks awesome. I'm hooked.

BB Cream
Thanks!!! I am actually very intrigued! I am wondering though: WHY is it called B.B. cream? What does it stand for? Beautifully Bright, or something??

I used this stuff for the first time yesterday. I like it! My only problem is that I picked up the wrong shade. Hopefully it will look even better with the right one! I have to go to CVS to exchange it.
