Professional Pictures
Anyone thinking of getting professional pictures of the baby(ies) after they're born? I was thinking of asking my wedding photographer to come to the house a week or so after they are born to take some photojournalistic shots - thought they would be nice for the announcements. How much do you think that would cost? Has anyone looked into this yet?

I thought about doing the same thing. My photgrapher said that he would charge us $150 for the first hour then 100 for each addtional. Although I can't imagine it taking more than an hour to get good shots.

Re: Professional Pictures
I got a certificate for a free 8x10 along with a sitting from a photographer for after the baby is born and the first 2 birthdays (when I purchased my furniture). I'm not sure how valid it is...or whether I will use it because I think it will be a situation where you use it...and then get roped into buying a lot more pictures for a lot more $$$$.

I agree, I can't imagine it taking more than an hour - and that's not bad at all....considering you go to some non-professional places, walk out with 4 pictures and it can cost $100!

Re: Professional Pictures
I had pictures of Abby taken after she was born. My photographer is a friend of mine and he is awesome. He comes to your house, takes the pictures and then just uploads them to whatever website you want. He charged a 100.00 dollar flat fee and you print out your own pictures so cheap online. I had him upload them to walmart.com and paid less than 10.00 dollars for 70 something pictures including 2 blowups. If anyone wants his info fm me. He is great and has two little boys himself so he is a pro at getting gorgeous shots of the little ones. I will try and post some pics he took of Abby. I am not good at posting pictures yet.

Re: Professional Pictures
Here are some shots I had taken of Abby. I can not find the ones from when she was a newborn but these are her at 6 months.
I S*CK at posting pics. If anyone wants to see them you will have to teach me how to post pics. AHHH! So frustrating.

Re: Professional Pictures
I got a call through the hospital...They came when she was 2-3 weeks old and the lady LITERALLY took 5 minutes to do the shots... we got a free 8x10 but I wound up spending like 200 bucks on the rest...
here are a couple...there were some good ones these are the two I have scanned on my work computer...

Re: Professional Pictures
IMHO If you are going to spend a ton of money I would wait till they are a little older than a newborn. I think pics when they start having a personality come out much better.
Not saying not to get newborn shots, but more along the lines of saving the big spending for when they are slightly older KWIM
