Re: Progesterone.....
My very good friend takes the suppositories. She has pretty bad mood swings from it.

Re: Progesterone.....
A few of the girls in my buddy group on ovusoft have told me that get bad mood swings when they are taking suppositories. I can't tell you anything from personal experience though.

Re: Progesterone.....
Diane..I am going to start taking these in three days. Can you tell me any other side effects you suffered from? Also, were you charting? Did they have any effect on your temps?

Re: Progesterone.....
I took progesterone the first 12 weeks I was pregnant, and although I was pregnant so probably a little more emotional than usual, I think the progesterone definitely exacerbated it because the day I stopped taking them all of a sudden my emotions were even-keel again, and I've been the same ever since. I was seriously irrational and moody while on the progesterone...

Re: Progesterone.....
Progesterone suppositories can definitely enhance your emotions. In addition they "leak"...it's kind of gross and makes you feel self conscious....however, they are a wonderful thing. They help sustain pregnancies.
They shouldn't affect your temps. My temps stay about the same whether on them or not. The suppositories are the most effective form of RX progesterone....since they go straight to the cervix/uterus.
Something to be aware about is, to make sure you get a BETA (blood-quantative pregnancy test) done ....at the end of your LP. (2WW). Progesterone can delay AF. My first cycle taking it....I didn't really know this, and I was overly excited. I thought for sure I was pregnant and wasn't. As soon as they confirm you are not pregnant.....you stop the progesterone. However, if you are pregnant....you should take them the entire first trimester.
By the way, lots of people 'assume' their progesterone levels are fine because they don't have luteal phase defect, and they have 'high' post ovulation temps. There is no way to tell your progesterone level.....based on those factors. Make sure you get progesterone checked every cycle you are TTC at 7 dpo.
A progesterone level of a 5 or higher confirms ovulation. A progesterone level of 10 is desired for natural cycles (unmedicated).... if you are on 'clomid' or 'injections' .....your progesterone level should be over a 15 at 7 dpo. Always make sure your doctor tells you your exact level. If your progesterone comes back a 9.....and it's just slightly low YOU STILL NEED THE PROGESTERONE SUPPLEMENT. Progesterone levels increase as the days past ovulation increase. If you are pregnant....the progesterone levels need to increase just like your BETA does.

Thanks but I am going to an RE too so I already knew all the rest of that. All I wanted to know was what side effects people had experienced first hand.
