Progesterone levels??
I am currently 6 weeks pregnant my first ever progesterone was 14.2 then it went to 18 then back to 14 and now today it was 12.2. The nurse says that they are not concerned and I am on vaginal suppositories. I know they don't get absorbed into the bloodstream but why is my level dropping as my pregnancy progresses? Has anyone else had this? I was pregnant with twins because my egg had split but at today's sono we only saw 1 heartbeat he thinks the other may be a vanishing twin cause he couldn't see much in the sac right now. Can my prog have anything to do with this? Tia!

Re: Progesterone levels??
Sorry about your vanishing twin. My P4 levels also went up and down.. but the nurses were not concerned and told me to just continue using the crinone like I have been.

Re: Progesterone levels??
Mine were like yours early in my pregnancy and they didn't even put me on suppositories. I was concerned too because I had P4 issues with my previous pregnancy but from what I read, they fluctuate depending on time of day and whatnot. They don't really become concerned until the level drops past 10. Also, you're already on suppositories which will definitely help, but won't show p in your bloddwork. As long as you're not cramping or bleeding, you should be ok but I would definitely still keep an eye on it! GL!!!

Thats great that you were able to see a heartbeat on the one bur i still think it is to early to count out the other sac just yet. We couldnt see anything at my 6w5d then at almost 8w we barely found the heartbeat but it was there. I know its hard but just try to relax and wait for your next appointment

Thank you so much you made me feel so much better and more hopeful. I've been soo upset about baby b crying all day yesterday about the thought that I had two and one isn't going to make it. It's crazy how in such little time you already form a bond with these two little beans. I pray my baby b pulls through. Thanks again!

I don't think they ever even told me my progesterone levels. My RE stopped even getting my betas after he saw the heartbeat. He wasn't worried at that point.
And I know your upset about Baby B, but vanishing twins is VERY common with IVF, I know more people it's happened to then people who had twins. Its hard to think this way, but if you weren't doing IVF and being monitored by an RE you probably wouldn't have even known it was there. But whether or not Baby B pulls through you have one healthy beautiful baby developing in there.

I know, your absolutely right and either way I am of course so grateful and blessed to have one healthy baby! It's just a sad situation for the other and I know that if I didn't have early monitoring I never wouldn't known. In a way early monitoring is not always a good thing I guess.
