Progesterone Reassurance Needed...
O.k. so these stupid little capsule things are driving me NUTS. I can barely get it inserted before it starts melting and twisting around and I'm really nervous that it's not getting into my system
I mean, it's definitely "in" but barely. And I keep seeing "chunks" when I use the bathroom.
I called the RE for reassurance and they just said "don't worry" it's getting into your system. There are no applicators, etc.
Can anyone give me any more advice on the capsule form? I am so worried that we made it this far and I'll screw it up by screwing up what should be something fairly simple...

The first day I had a really hard time with them too. After that they seemed to go further up and stay better.
Ive been using them since April 26th 4 times a day. As long as the whole pill isnt coming out, i think you are fine.

Re: Progesterone Reassurance Needed...
I hated those things!!! If I don't get an applicator from my RE this time, I'm going to buy a monistat kit and get one from there!
I had so many issues with them. Way TMI and I learned to hard way that I had to make sure my hands were dry and I did it fast!
But yes, they said it was normal for chunks to fall out.

1st I can suggest you may want to refrigerate. And second there certainly are applicators. Call the pharm you got them at and tell them you need an applicator. I know for a fact Stony Brook Pharmacy has them and you can probably call there and get one

Ditto this! I had to use the progesterone suppositories during my second pregnancy and I was given an applicator - thank goodness - b/c I can't imagine having to insert them properly without one. And the instructions on the prescription was to keep the capsules refrigerated.

DO NOT REFRIGERATE if you're an LI-IVF patient!!!! LI-IVFs capsules are NOT supposed to be refrigerated. LI-IVF can give you an applicator because they gave me one or the pharmacy can give you one.

Re: Progesterone Reassurance Needed...
I use the suppositories. I actually found using the applicator was worse because very frequently they got stuck inside the applicator and would fall out when I took the applicator out.
The stuff coming out is perfectly normal. My pee is always cloudy when I am on progesterone.

Re: Progesterone Reassurance Needed...
Thank you everyone.
Yes, I am and LIIVF patient and no one mentioned refrigerating, so I'm not. They are going to mail me an applicator to try out.
I do have to say, that the more I relax and the more often I do it, the better it's going. But, man, those little pills are a real PITA!!!

I'm glad you called them, to be sure! I'm sorry Lee...I totally would not have recommended refrigerating if I had realized your pills are different than the ones I was prescribed!! Good to hear that they are getting easier to administer, tho...that is a huge plus!
Love ya, sweetie...thinking of you!!! xoxoxo
