PROMPT Certified-EI Hi
Hello, I would like to take this time to introduce myself. I have been reading this board quite often. The amount of information I have gained from browsing has helped me tremendously.
My 2 year old daughter just completed her EI evaluation. She qualified for 2-45 minute speech sessions. The coordinator agreed to send a PROMPT certified therapist. However, they can not seem to locate one. Those of you who use a PROMPT therapist do you have one that is certified and if not are still pleased with your child's progress ? I have one therapist that said she could do one of the sessions at 3:15 which is my daughter's naptime. I am so desperate, I may just wake her for it !
Any help/advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
I am also in search of great sensory integration programs/gyms. My daughter I believe is a sensory seeker with SPD and probably 'dyspraxic". The OT that evaluated her felt that she fell in this category.

Hi, I'm not sure what school district your in. My ds has apraxia and I'm in the Levittown district. For us they couldn't locate a PROMPT certified therapist so I had to get one on my own. I am extremely happy with his progress through PROMPT and feel it has made the biggest impact for him. Our therapist is Donna Lederman (donnalederman.com) and she has two offices, one in East Williston and the other in Commack).
As for a sensory place, my SIL takes my nephew to Dove in Hicksville and she is very happy with them, not sure where your located. HTH.

I second Kristin Kalos as well. Not only is she an awesome therapist, but she just got married to my second cousin!

Thank you for all your responses. I am in the Long Beach area. I am definitely going to look into Donna Lederman's practice as I heard wonderful things about it.
I found a certified therapist who can do once a week, so I figure I will start from there and see if she recommends me go to someone private in addition.

This is who my son uses. Kristin is AMAZING with Christopher. He has been only going for a few months, and already we have seen progress. I went through insurance and they are re-imbursting me.

I second Kristin Kalos as well. Not only is she an awesome therapist, but she just got married to my second cousin!
