Protein Shakes
Are we allowed to drink protein shakes? If you are drinking them, please recommend yours.
I'm a carboholic so my protien is lacking. I love two brands of protein shakes (Optimum Nutrition and MetRx), just not sure if I'm allowed to drink them

I asked my Dr. she said it really depends on the sugar content. I have to bring it to her next visit so she can check it out. DH & I love protein shakes, especially for breakfast!
Other than that, protein is good for us.

I really like Optimun Nutrition Rocky Road and MetRx extreme chocolate. Wed. I have a Dr. appt. I think I'll bring the nutrition facts for both and show my Dr. I don't think it can hurt...especially knowing the my protien intake is generally low.
I'll let you know what my Dr. says.

Thanks Kathy! yeah definately let me know! I actually just started drinking chocolate milk almost everyday bc of my heartburn. I've always hated milk except in cereal so hopefully I'll get used to protein shakes quick!

I'm sorry this just made me laugh
It might bind you some more. I've herd that peple on Atkins who really only eat meat and fat constipate....not sure if it's the meat or the fat that does it to them
