PSA: Leave your DH's at home for OB appointments...
So we just came from our 36 week appointment. While I was doing my thing in a cup, DH was sweet talking the nurse and by the time I got back they both had me convinced that not only was I to have an internal today, but a rectal exam as well. So in the few minutes before my OB walked in, I had to psych myself up for this most unfortunate exam. At the same time, DH decides to take the probe covers for the internal sonogram machines and make balloons.
When my OB walked in, I said to my him:
"I am not happy with today's protocol."
He responded rather quizzically with:
"I am just going to swab the inside of your hoo-hah (not his actual words)."
Then I look at DH with the look of death and he said "APRIL FOOLS!"
Let this be a lesson to all of you. LEAVE THEM HOME!!!!
ETA: RE: rest of the appointment.
Before the above said conversation with the doc, he came in, looked at me and sid "Hey clutsy!" (based upon last week's fainting spell). Hardy Har Har. Im glad he has a sense of humor - I need that can't you tell?
Ed-lie is doing fine. Her heartbeat is still strong 142 BPM and she remains head down (thank G-d).
We again discussed birthing options making it very clear that we wish to have every chance at a vaginal delivery possible. I AGAIN asked about his experience with his other patients who had cervical stenosis and excess scar tissue. He basically said, some women with the same issue can dilate and others do not. Only time will tell and there is no way to know at this point.
He also said that I could have very intense contrations with ZERO dilation and if after a certain amount of time it is determined that my cervix is STILL closed like Fort Knox, a c-section will be offered. We discussed that I do not want to labor forever if my cervix is not dilating at all or at least at an expected rate. He mention the concerns for laboring too long with no progress and DH and I agreed that IF we need to do a c-section, we won't fight it. Let's just hope we don't have to.

Karma is a b i t c h..
Just wait until he has to change a poopy diaper after Ed-lie starts eating solid food. Let's just say you don't want to eat before that diaper change (insert vomit icon here).

We are going to get you a rubber vomit and you are going to tell DH that you aren't feeling well and cannot clean it up.
