PSA: people with PVC stepped-down fences or Liberty Fences
Last week I went out to the backyard to throw away a bag and I found a huge gap in my 6 foot privacy PVC. My first thought was kids who were fence-crashing. But it made no sense, since the section borders another neighbor.
I went over and found all 7 pieces laying on my neighbor's lawn. It must have happened during that windy day we had last week.
The top rail of that section was loose. So loose, I could pull it right out of the post. I picked up all the pieces and tried to slide them back into the top/bottom rail grooves but figured I better call Liberty and put that 15 year service warranty to use.
Later I found another post that had a loose top rail also on the same side. The whole thing is not level - there are multiple sections at varying heights to accommodate tree trunks, roots, and a grade change.
They came today and explained that there are screws inside the posts that keep the top rails from coming loose, so they tightened them.
I'm going to keep an eye on that side from now on but I figured I'd let you all know, just in case. I had no problems with the service call, they came when they said they would.
