I'm 5'2" and wear a size 7.
I got a kids size 6, which is a little big, I can wear a thick sock w/ them, they aren't ridiculously tall on me (just below the knee) AND they are $50 cheaper than the adult sizes. - And easier to get on/off than the original Hunters

I saw a girl the other day w the patent leather black ones, I thought they were really cute. I wear a 6.5 or 7, since you said the 6 was big, do you think maybe the 5 would be ok? Which ones did you get??

I got just plain black ones - the 5 would probably be ok on you - I wear a 7/7.5 and the 6 is a liittle roomy - but I can wear a thick sock w/ it and be fine.
I'm sure the 5 will work for you

I'm 5'2" also and just purchased the same from zappos 
I'm a size 8 in womens and the size 6 kids fit perfect. I've only worn my regular socks with them and I still have room. I haven't tried thick socks yet but I'd imagine they would be fine.
