PSA: Remember that show on Discovery Health-- "I didn't know I was Pregnant"??
Well alas, Optimum Cable subscribers-- it's on TLC tonight at 8!
We finally get to see it! I look forward to a discussion on the show later.

I'm watching this tonight...at 28 weeks pregnant now, I can't imagine someone being at this point and NOT knowing!

Re: PSA: Remember that show on Discovery Health-- "I didn't know I was Pregnant"??
See...I find this so interesting. My DH has the TV tonight too though. Anyway, I was just discussing this with a friend the other day and I was saying that I COULD understand how someone could be far along and not know.
The only way I could really tell I was pregnant was by my growing belly and obviously not getting my period. (I am 31 weeks now.) My symptoms have been extremely mild (not even that tired) and my baby is not extremely active. Just recently I've really been able to feel her. Also, if someone had very sporadic or barely existant periods, I could really understand them not knowing. It's really interesting though.

Re: PSA: Remember that show on Discovery Health-- "I didn't know I was Pregnant"??
DH and I watched this when it was first on, and I still couldn't grasp my mind around how you cannot know you are pregnant!
With that said though, a very close friend of mine got pregnant (while on the pill), had no idea she was pregnant (even continued taking the pill) until she was about 17 weeks along! She hadn't gained any weight and hadn't started showing. She found out at a routine drs. visit that she was pregnant.

Watching this right now...
This is totally possible. I know of a close relative who was 6 months pregnant and didn't even know it. She thought she was going through menopause!

I saw that! I guess everyone is different, but I sure know I'm PG. I have had every symptom, have gained a good amount of weight, have a big belly and have a very active baby inside. So to me, I can't imagine not knowing. I guess anything is possible though.

Re: PSA: Remember that show on Discovery Health-- "I didn't know I was Pregnant"??
I actually made DH go watch tv in the garage so I could watch it.
Something that stood out to me, was that all these women seemed to have major health issues to begin with. Were they following up that closely with their doctor? It seems that "someone" should have caught this earlier on.
I guess though a lot of people just don't follow up on health issues like they should.
I can't imagine going into labor though without being able to prepare for it mentally.
